The Sturgeon Family Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Wood as the Chairperson of the Asset Management Committee. In this critical role, Mark will oversee the foundation’s financial assets, ensuring their effective management and growth to support the foundation’s mission.
Mark Wood: A Leader in Finance and Real Estate
Mark Wood brings extensive experience in finance and real estate to the Sturgeon Family Foundation. Born and raised in North Richland Hills, Mark graduated from Richland High School in 1973 and later earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1977.
Mark began his career in banking with the Texas Commerce Bank organization while still attending UTA. He served as Chairman and CEO of TCB-Hurst from 1984 to 1987, before leaving to start his own consulting business. In 1988, he co-founded the commercial real estate brokerage firm Howe/Wood & Company with his partner, Mark Howe. Under his leadership, Howe/Wood & Company has become a respected name in commercial real estate brokerage.
Community Involvement and Leadership
Mark is deeply involved in the Northeast Tarrant County community. He has served on the North Richland Hills Planning and Zoning Commission for eleven years and on the city council for six years. His commitment to community service extends to his church, where he has served on several committees, including multiple terms as the Building Committee Chairman for major projects. Mark is also an active member of the Society of Commercial Realtors, having previously served as its Chairman.
